Don't think or judge. Just Read.
I've gotten interested to romantic stories and been dreaming to have my very own one; but that's not what I'm going to blog about.
I have read these two books of Sarah Dessen. First was "The truth about forever", read it for a couple of nights and second was "Just Listen" for one overnight and just finished this noon.
I like how she made the theme, realistic since some of the people may be or on the same shoes of the protagonist-couldn't express theirselves the way their hearts wants to do. They're protective of other people, of how they feel and react. And I believe, most of young adults are like that. Also, Macy and Annabel are going through an experience they wanted to escape and Wes(Kristy too!) and Owen helped on most of it. What I'm trying to say is, the stories are within reach, normal yet also surreal.
The similarities did get tiresome at the middle while reading Just listen but later on it passed. As its not really the same same; the sibling relationship is the very plus factor. Most people would connect to that part and she gave emphasis on it. I cried on Just listen, actually, but only a couple of times. While on The Truth about Forever, I felt the romance over all other things(friendship next).
I just love how she writes and give details - the foreshadowing and then easily sliding the story at present; how she describes the scenes and feelings. I can picture it and thinking it can be in movies. Its more on teen angst but there will always be people who would appreciate it. Just like me. :)
PS: I could very much relate to Whitney. I have an eating disorder too! But conversely from hers, I EAT TOO MUCH! Also, I like writing and reading. I'm a middle child and we have the same default setting! How bizarre.
